Tournaments Guide

Overview

Warthog's Game Leagues provides advanced tournaments in addition to normal league play. They provide a unique and different way to compete against others, and gives you extra opportunities for bragging rights. Comprehensive (over 40) statistics are kept for each player, and matches can even count toward normal league play. You can even have team tournaments and mix up the play and keep it fresh.

How To Play

Finding Tournaments

In order to play in a tournament, you must first find one to play in! You can check your league's main page for today's and tomorrow's tournaments, or you can view the Tourney Schedule page to find tournaments being held more than 2 days away.

If you have a Premium Membership you can have the easiest and most convenient solution of all - every morning a list of upcoming tournaments for all of your leagues will be sent right to your email address!

Registering

You must register for the tournament you want to play in. While other sites make you unnecessarily re-enter your name and password to register, all we require is a simple checkbox click to confirm you want to play. We guarantee the easiest registration around!

If you're playing in a team tournament, all you need to do is either create your own team, or join an existing team. To join that team you will need the password from that team's creator.

Check-In

When the tournament is getting ready to begin, the Tournament Admin will open the check-in process. This is to confirm that you are actually present to participate. If you register for a tournament while check-in is open, you will be automatically checked-in.

Playing Each Round

Check the Rules page for the tournament to see how each game will be played. Click on the Standings page to find out your opponent for that round, then find that opponent and play your match!

Some tourney admins will report the match for you when you are finished. If not, either you or your opponent will have to report it. Who reports, the winner or the loser? It is the same as who reports on your league normally. If you are unsure the Report page will tell you.

Again we have the easiest reporting tool in existence. Other sites make you enter your opponent's name - we already know who your opponent is! All you have to do is confirm that the match was played, and our advanced tournament system does the rest!

League Stats

Some tournaments will have the League Stats option set. What this means is that all of the tourney matches will not only count toward your tournament record, but they will count toward your regular league matches as well. This adds a new level of excitement and incentive for you to win!

Tourney Admins Overview

Tournament Admins (TAs) are normal administrators on the league who have been given the ability to run tournaments. There are two types: Head Tournament Admins and Tournament Admins.

Head TAs can reassign a TA for a particular tournament. They may also manage any existing tournament and run it as if they were the normal TA for that tourney. If a TA does not show up for his own tournament, you can find a Head Tourney Admin and ask them to reassign the tourney or run it himself.
