Leagues Guide
Overview
Joining the League
Before anything else, you must join the league you want to participate on. This process is far simpler than other league sites and takes a matter of seconds; once you have a user account logged in, just click on Join This League and enter the name you want for your player. It really is that simple! No email confirmation required.
Some admins have a 'custom' field of information for you to fill in as part of the signup process. Just enter what they're asking for in addition to your name and you will be on the league in no time.
Recently a Remove Me link was added to the league section, where you can delete your player from the league if you will not be participating anymore. This is still in beta testing so it may not work properly.
Find Player
The Find Player page is where you can find all of the statistics for a single player on your league. If you are already logged in a link is provided to jump right to your personal page.
Here you will find your rank, record, winning streak, result of last match, hall of fame statistics, and tournament statistics.
Premium Members get even more information about a player. You get to see the last 10-25 match results for a player, a complete match history by date or opponent, and a complete tournament match history with an enormous amount of useful stats! If you get a similar membership on another league site, you only get that extra information for yourself. If you become a Premium Member on this website, you get access to this information for all players on all leagues.
Ranking Pages
Sure leagues are fun, but so is competition. You need a way to rank the players on the league and see who is the best, and our Rankings pages show you just that.
View All Ranks is the best way to see all of the players on the league. You will get their ranks in order, as well as a listing of the Unranked Players. Numerous stats are showng such as record, winning percentage, and how long since a player's last match, and you can click on any player to instantly bring up their Find Player page.
The Rankings page is divided into three sections. The first ranks players by sorting them in a variety of different categories that you select, such as Longest Winning Streak or Most Losses. The second is a similar system but statistics are only based on tournament records. The third is useful for splitting up the players into 4 quarters - the top 25%, top-middle 25%, bottom-middle 25%, and bottom 25%.
Matches and News
This page will list recent matches and news for the past week for all players or a specific player of your choosing.
Premium Members get an additional feature to view their own matches, and they can also restrict to only show wins or losses and/or against a particular opponent.
Hall of Fame
The Hall of Fame is a chance to show off your best records and achievements. Many of the same statistics on the Rankings pages are shown here, except that these show the records for players who have retired or are no longer with the league for whatever reason. If you have what it takes to beat the best all-time players, you will have bragging rights with a top spot in one of the Hall of Fame categories!
Miscellaneous
Rules
The Rules page simply goes over the Rules of Warthog's Game Leagues and lists all of the custom rules set by the league administrators. Several modifiable options define whether the winner or loser reports match results, how many games it takes to be ranked, how many games you can play per day, and so on. Additionally the admins can set any additional rules they choose.
Statistics
The Statistics page is a great way to gather information about your specific league and Warthog's Game Leagues. You can see various data such as how many players are currently on the league, how many tournaments have been run, and how many matches have been played. The statistics are shown for all current players, as well as all-time (similar to a Hall of Fame for stats).
Admins
On the League Admins page you will see 1-to-3 different categories of admins as well as one or more administrators. The three categories are Main Admin, Head Admin, and Admin.
There can only be one Main Admin for the league, and he is the authority for everything. The buck stops with him. He manages all administrators, players, and aspects of the league.
Head Admins are a step below the Main Admin. They typically have full administrative access minus a few key features held by the Main Admin. They can also manage other Head Admins as well as normal Admins.
Regular Admins have access to 1 or more specific administrative features, depending on the access they have been given. For example, a regular admin could handle matches and rules, tournaments only, news only - basically any combination of duties. Another thing to note is that while all Tourney Admins are League Admins, not all League Admins are Tourney Admins.
Team Leaders
Overview
Team leagues require a leader for each team who can manage the team, report matches, and handle its members. They have access to a few additional members that teammates do not.
Delete Member
This page is fairly simple, as a drop-down list of teammates is shown to the team leader, who can than select and confirm which player to delete.
Join Password
Here is where the team leader sets the password required to join his team. This is necessary to prevent random users from joining your team and give you a headache.
Step Down
Team leaders have the option of passing off their leadership to a teammate by again selecting them from a list. The old leader will still be a member of the team but will no longer have access to the leader's responsibilities.
